Consumer Capture

Diebold is now offering consumer capture as part of its existing remote deposit solution. This integrated approach to image check deposits makes deployment easy, fast and secure without the need to wait for integration into internet banking or other third party applications. Banks and credit unions can now deploy a single solution for all check deposit needs of both merchants and consumers. The solution can also be deployed for consumer capture only, if desired. Consumer capture from Diebold frees a financial institution from the need to supply costly check scanners since the consumer can use their existing home or home office document scanner.

Consumer capture will enable financial institutions to reduce mail-in deposits and in branch visits for customers and members who qualify for this offering. Risk mitigation is the greatest need when considering a solution of this type, but a strong customer agreement, targeted deployment to certain types of customers & members and fast clearing of items in our Check 21 environment will give them the protection required. The Diebold solution maximizes the control of deposits as an additional method to minimize exposure.

Diebold’s advanced ImageWay Management portal, which consolidates all points of capture including remote deposit, image ATM and branch, gives financial institutions control over the flow of deposits from consumer capture users. This added level of control works in real time, allowing the FI to see all images as they are scanned, even before a deposit is actually submitted for processing. Available as well in the Management portal is the ability to flag and hold deposits that meet FI criteria for review, so that suspect deposits will not be processed until approved.
