The locking mechanism is a single rotary wedgelock versus a series of locking bolts or locking bars, that spans the full height of the door.  For added security, the wedge spans the full height of the door and is sandwiched in its center, protected on all sides by the door's mass.  When the unique wedge is in place, an unauthorized person attempting to gain access to the vault will find that prying or pulling the door will tighten it even further, securing it even more.

A ventilator that provides life-saving air to anyone confined within the vault is factory-built into the door.  This feature saves valuable wall space and eliminates the need for grouting and other ventilator installation costs.
