Metal Undercounter Equipment
Diebold offers an extensive line of metal undercounter equipment for offices and work areas. In addition to a solid, well-engineered product, we provide decades of experience in designing efficient total work environments.

A comprehensive selection of modules can be combined to create an arrangement that's efficient, expandable, secure and functional. There are over 35 different units to choose from, along with a full range of accessories for security, cash management, filing, and storage.

Construction
Units are extremely rigid and have wrap-around, seamless outer walls and full-height inner side walls constructed from 11- to 22-gauge steel. High impact polymers are also used for certain components where appropriate. All steel parts are thoroughly cleaned and coated with iron phosphate to insure a proper base for painting. Durable powder-coated paint, specifically formulated to resist impact and common abrasion, is carefully applied inside and out to provide maximum chip and scratch resistance. Standard colors offered are Platinum, Dawn, Gray 1, Plaza Gray and Black. In addition, a wide selection of optional colors are offered to match interior color schemes and units can be finished in a custom color to match any customer provided sample.

Pedestals
Pedestals feature double wall construction to form a rigid structural box. Each opening is completely separated from the others in a pedestal unit to inhibit access from one drawer/door opening to another, thus improving individual drawer/door security.  Internal access to leveling legs in the base allows for 1 1/4" (3.18m) adjustment and bases can be removed or adjusted to meet varying countertop heights and applications.

In addition, many new undercounter pedestals can be ordered as buses- a fast, convenient way to move cash and other valuables between a vault and cashier stations. A thumb latch is standard on any bus with drawers to prevent the drawers from opening during movement.

Lockers
Lockers are designed to prevent surreptitious entry. Locker inserts are fabricated with 1/2" (1.27cm) steel doors and 11 gauge welded bodies and secured with screws in cabinet openings. The 1/2" (1.27cm) thick exterior locker door assures that attempts at surreptitious entry will show signs of force. It swings on a continuous hinge, welded to the door and screwed to the frame and is secured by 3-point boltwork with full 1/2" (1.27cm) engagement, controlled by a UL-approved Group 1, electronic combination lock.

Cabinets
Cabinet doors swing on hinges that are welded to the door and screwed to the pedestal and are held closed by a magnetic catch.  All cabinet door swings can be reversed or replaced in the field, if damaged. Door handles have a chrome-plated flush pull that snaps into the cut-out on the face of the drawer.

Shelves
All cabinets and lockers 12-21/32" (32.15cm) or greater in height automatically have one shelf. Cabinet walls are pre-punched to receive shelf clips on two-inch centers. Shelves are supported by the clips and the two rear clips engage a side flange of the shelf to prevent the shelf from sliding forward. Shelves are constructed to hold a 75-pound (34 Kg.), equally distributed static load.

Drawers
All drawers have a progressive slide suspension with Delrin ball bearing rollers to provide easy operation. A heavy-duty suspension is used with the heavy-duty drawers to support up to a 250 pound (113Kg.) load.

The suspension operates smoothly without applying lubricants and is guaranteed by Diebold for the life of the installation to operate satisfactorily in the function for which it is designed. Should the suspension fail to do so, Diebold will replace the suspension at no cost to the user.

Locks
Electronic locks are standard and are available with several options, including time delay, with programmable delay and open times, an override combination for armored car services, dual combination control and manager/clerk features.

Changeable, core-removable key locks are standard on drawers and cabinet doors. The two elements of the system are the core and the lock shell. When personnel changes take place, it's an easy matter to issue lock cores and keys to new personnel, thus reducing the security risk and virtually eliminating expensive service calls for lock changes. Keying instructions, specified by the customer at the time the order is placed, determine which locks are to be keyed alike, keyed differently, master keyed, etc.

Accessories
Accessories. You can equip your Diebold Undercounter system with a complete array of accessories to satisfy a variety of individual operational needs, from coin handling to in-drawer filing.

The cash drop drawer has a compartment added to the rear of the cash drawer with a 6 1/2" x 1 3/4" (16.51cm x 4.45cm) opening into a chute that extends to a locker below. The operator places cash in the back section of the top drawer. When the drawer is closed, the cash drops directly into a locker below for secure storage.

Seating
Diebold offers a complete line of adjustable stools and desk chairs to provide comfortable, durable seating for staff and customers. Features include generously proportioned seats and backs with thick deeply-contoured cushioning and pneumatic seat height adjustment for comfort and stability. Choose from 11 fabric colors and five complementary frame colors to match your decor.

The adjustable stool provides maximum operating efficiency.  The seat swivels and adjusts pneumatically from 23 to 28 (58.4cm to 72.4cm) in height.  The backrest is adjustable both horizontally and vertically and the base is equipment with dual-wheel casters.

Modular Counter Systems
Diebold’s full line of modular transaction furniture makes it easy to create an attractive, productive and flexible working environment.

Design
The look and quality of custom furniture at a fraction of the cost. Choose from a wide selection of Modular Counter Systems (MCS) to create your own layout and distinctive look. Choose the rich lines of MCS 2000 in a traditional or contemporary style, or the clean design of MCS 3000. All styles coordinate with our metal undercounter furniture and provide a secure, convenient workstation. All three combine style and functionality with features like:

  • tall gates for added security,

  • high parapets to deter would-be criminals' attempts to leap over counters

  • cut-out parapet backs to allow valuable equipment to be placed out of public view.

  • custom designs are optional.

Bring a coordinated look to counters, deal areas, panels and trim by selecting from our standard high-pressure laminates in a variety of wood grain, patterned and solid colors recommended by Diebold's professional designers. Or, choose special-order custom laminates to match your decor.

Choose from a wide selection of complete workstation module configurations or order individual components. Diebold Modular Counter Systems can be configured to fit almost any area.  Simple 90-degree and 45-degree angles allow modules to fit together in a variety of ways. And, dimensions meet guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities Act for height, width and reach-over requirements for customers and employees.

Whatever design you choose, you can integrate your new furniture with Diebold’s line of high-strength metal undercounter equipment including multifunctional drawers, cabinets and safes carefully designed and crafted with the unique needs of the financial services environment in mind.

Fabrication
Your furniture will be pre-fabricated to your exact specifications. Whether you are furnishing a single facility or hundreds of branches, Diebold's computerized manufacturing ensures tight specifications, uniform fit and consistent appearance. And, because all fabrication meets the quality standards for "custom or premium grade" furniture as defined by the Architectural Woodwork Institute, Diebold Modular Counter Systems will maintain its quality appearance for many years.

Installation and Relocation
Diebold Modular Counter Systems are simple to install and easy to change. Furniture modules are securely joined on site using simple tools. Installation typically takes less than 30 minutes per unit. Pre-cut counter slots and removable panels make it easy to install and service wiring for power, communications and alarms and the hidden wire ways keep wires and cables out of the way, yet easily accessible. That means lower contracting costs and fewer workplace disruptions.

Unlike built-in teller lines and counters, Diebold's modular furniture accommodates change. Units are completely portable and interchangeable. New modules can be added at any time. Whether you move, reconfigure or expand, you're always assured of a consistent appearance with minimum expense and disruption.
